SAY HELLO TO AFTER DARK!

The name says it all: “After Dark,” an enchanting new chocolate liqueur from Willow Creek Distillery, best savored once the sun goes down.

“You’ll want to sip After Dark by the fireplace or out on the porch as the stars come out,” says Head Distiller Kevin Coulton. “It’s suave, mischievous and delicious. It’s easily enjoyed on its own, and it’s also great for creating a chocolate Martini or chocolate Old Fashioned. You might even want to pour some on your ice cream or gelato.”

The journey of After Dark began when we distilled neutral grape spirits from estate-grown fruit from our affiliated Opolo Vineyards. We then steeped this spirit with all-natural raw cacao nibs before incorporating a touch of brown sugar to create the ultimate chocolate-flavored elixir.

“It’s all about striking the perfect balance of flavor, sweetness and body,” Kevin says. “The nibs are essentially chocolate in its most natural form, without any added sugar. This gives us this luscious base of pure chocolate flavor and silky textures. The brown sugar adds the finishing touch to bring it all together.”

Kevin notes that many mass-produced liqueurs are overly sweet, which negatively affects popular perception of what a true artisanal liqueur can be. “The insanely sweet liqueurs inevitably lack nuance and even flavor, because all you taste is the sugar. When it comes to the liqueurs we craft at Willow Creek Distillery, we’re very careful about making sure all of the ingredients come into play to create something that is complex and satisfying.”

He adds, “If you’ve never had a premium small-batch liqueur like After Dark you’re in for a treat. It opens up a new world of enjoyment.”
